What Is The Best Penis Extender
For Men With Peyronie's Disease?

The Peyronie's Device penis curvature correction
The NEW Peyronie's Device

There are many penis extenders available but the quality varies. There is no question that some penile extender brands are more suitable for men with Peyronie's disease than others are.

Peyronie's disease is a medical condition and the last thing you want to do is to make your Peyronie's condition worse. It is therefore important to choose the best penis enlargement device for Peyronie's patients.

This article provides you with answers to the following topics:

What Is Medically Approved Penis Traction Device?

As Peyronie's disease is a medical condition, I personally would only use medically approved penis traction device to treat my Peyronie's disease. But what does “medically approved” mean when it comes to penis extenders? And can you trust those claims?

Unfortunately, this is a bit of a minefield. There is no universal certificate that gives product the medically approved stamp.

Some maintain that products are medically approved if various health professionals have used them and are happy to endorse them, i.e. as safe and effective option for their patients. Others refer to clinical studies and others refer to certificates showing that they operate in line with relevant health and safety regulations and approved quality standards.

You will see different terms used for medically approved claims; these are some of the most commonly used:

FDA Approved

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tests the quality of food and health related products based on very strict health and safety protocols. Achieving FDA approval for product is the ultimate goal for most manufacturers.

To best of my knowledge, there are no FDA approved penis extenders on the market today (if someone can proof otherwise, please Contact Me).

FDA Registered

Many penile extender brands are FDA registered but every company involved in the production and distribution of medical devices intended for use in the US are required by law to register annually with FDA.

Being FDA registered means the company should operate according to relevant health and safety regulations. However, it does not involve the quality and safety recognition, that being FDA approved does.

European Union (EU) Medical Device Directive

The EU Medical Device Directive Opens in new window symbol addresses the regulatory framework for market access, international trade relations, and regulatory convergence. The purpose is to ensure the highest level of patient safety.

Medical devices are classified according to two criteria, the level of invasiveness, and the accompanying level of risk to the patient. Penis extender manufacturers that operate under the EU directives are always classified as class-I, as non-invasive and low risk medical device.

The manufacturer undertakes responsibility to ensure their products are always manufactured in standardized way, e.g. using ISO standards, and each product must be identified with LOT numbers for traceability.

CE Certified Device

All products sold within the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA) must have CE labelling. With the CE marking, the manufacturer certifies that the product confirms with the requirement of the relevant EC directive (see above).

Doctor Approved / Doctor Recommended

Doctors can give their approval or recommendations for products. This usually means they have used them in their practice and consider them safe and effective in treating the relevant condition. The doctor is putting his reputation on the line by endorsing particular product, so most doctors only do this after careful consideration.

The more doctors that approve the product the better, but always check if the doctor has any commercial interests in the particular product he / she is endorsing. It does not have to make his / her opinion invalid but all interests should be declared to the potential buyer.

Scientific Studies / Clinical Studies

Scientific studies can give good indication of product effectiveness. Just bear in mind the limitations of Peyronie's Studies when reading them.

When penis extender manufacturer cites scientific studies, look for confirmations. Look for links to the study, or documents you can download to confirm the claims. Don't just take their words for it. Make sure the studies confirm the claims, and that the study is for the relevant product and condition.

Therefore, when I say I would only use medically approved penis traction device to treat my Peyronie's disease, I'm having all the above in mind. I would consider each one thoroughly (and skeptically) and I always look for confirmation for all claims made by the manufacturer/seller.

How To Choose The Right Penis Extender?

There is no one best penis enlargement device, but some are better than others are when it comes to treating men with Peyronie's disease.

Most of the penis extenders work on the same principles (traction) and look similar. The quality however does vary and so does the price. Most good penis traction devices cost between $200 - 350 but you may find cheaper versions (unapproved / copies) on the internet or in sex shops.

Medically approved penis traction device may be little bit more expensive (though not necessarily) but personally I consider my penis worth it. Peyronie's disease is a medical condition and you don't want to risk your condition getting worse.

FDA has monitored internet sales of health products for several years and offers consumer advice for those Buying Medical Devices Opens in new window symbol and diagnostic tests online.

Some of the most popular penile extender brands are (in alphabetical order):

Andropeyronie

Euro Extender

Jes-Extender

Male Edge

Peyronies Device

Size Genetics

X4 Labs

All these penile extender manufacturers claim their penis traction devices are medically approved, just make sure you confirm all claims based on above criteria.

You may also see FastSize mentioned when doing your internet research, especially in the US. They are no longer on the market as FDA seized FastSize products in 2010 on the grounds of being adulterated and misbranded, not meeting good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and safety and efficacy not being established (FDA Press Announcement).

Best Traction Devices For Men With Peyronie's and Why?

All the above penile extender manufacturers lengthen the penis and enhance the penis girth but only Andropeyronie and Peyronies Device are adjusted to correct penis curvature. They allow you to control the direction of the traction in order to apply stronger force to the opposite side of the penis curvature.

Andropeyronie and Peyronies Device

While X4 Labs offers X4 Labs™ Peyronie's Edition Penis Extender and say it is specially designed for the treatment of penile curvature, and fibrous plaque tissue. I can not see any difference in the product description between the standard X4 Extender Deluxe Edition and the Peyronie's Edition.

The Peyronie's edition however includes package of specially formulated 1000ui Vitamin-E Boost, designed to help alleviate symptoms of Peyronie's disease.

But as we have already found out, there are no conclusive evidences that Vitamin E works on combating the Peyronie's disease and there have even been some concerns raised about the safety of taking Vitamin E in high doses.

To the best of my knowledge, only Andropeyronie and Peyronies Device offer penis extenders that are specifically designed to correct penis curvature. I therefore consider them the best penis enlargement device for men with Peyronie's disease.
